Choose peaceful thoughts instead of mulling over inner turmoil. Peace is always accessible within. Be attentive to ideas that cause you discomfort. Maybe you’re berating yourself for something you did, or what someone else said or did, or an event that transpired that was not entirely in your control. Choose battles with yourself and or others. Let go of more trivial matters. Talk to a friend or seek out professional advice for perplexing problems. You do yourself no favors, or others when you wallow in the muck. You don’t want to miss out on what life does have to offer you.
Restore peace by being truthful to yourself and or with others. If you continue to replay a troubling scenario, it means that you haven’t found closure or healed. Do you need more information or answers to stop the broken record? Whatever ails your heart, tend to these matters immediately to put your mind at ease. It is especially important to address concerns if it pertains to someone else in your life. No matter how much you try, you can’t change other people. You can, however, change the way you think about them or how you respond.
Seek to understand the source of your stress to find peace. Running away from issues by keeping busy or redirecting towards bad behavior that causes more trouble, only prolongs emotional pain. If you can’t find someone to lean on, spend time alone (preferably in silence) to discover what weighs heavily upon the heart. Address the concern with someone who can listen and give you an honest assessment of your trouble.
